The Whiffie Cushion™ is 15.5 inches wide and is designed to fit most standard car, truck, SUV, and van windows. Simply place it on the section of the window ledge where your dog naturally rests their head — it doesn’t need to span the full width of the glass to do its job perfectly. For larger truck windows — especially full-size pickup trucks — two Whiffie Cushions can fit side by side on the front passenger window, covering more of the glass and giving larger dogs even more surface to rest on. Many truck owners love this setup.

The Whiffie Cushion™ works best for medium to large dogs who can comfortably rest their chin on a car window ledge. If your dog loves hanging their head out the window, it’s built for them.

Roll your window down to the height where your dog naturally rests their chin — or high enough that their body can’t fit through the gap. Gently pull apart the bottom channel of the Whiffie Cushion™ and place it onto the window ledge working front to back. Do not slide it once it’s in place. That’s it — no tools, no magnets, no suction cups.

Yes — roll your window up to the point where the Whiffie Cushion™ fills the gap comfortably. Depending on your window size there may be open glass on either side, which also gives your dog some extra airflow.

Yes — the Whiffie Cushion™ grips your window ledge through friction alone. For best results, make sure your window glass is clean before installing and keep the foam clean between rides. We recommend locking your window controls once it’s set. It’s been put through its paces — including being run over by our Sprinter van — and kept right on working.

Most dogs understand its purpose by their 3rd or 4th ride — then they never want to ride without it. Give them a few trips to settle in. If yours genuinely doesn’t take to it, our 30-day return policy has you covered. No questions asked.

The Whiffie Cushion™ is designed as a chin rest, not a chew toy. The XL EXTRALIGHT® foam is non-toxic, phthalate-free, and vinyl-free — but if your dog is an aggressive chewer we recommend supervising their first few rides to establish good habits from the start.

Clean with mild soap and warm water — wipe dry with a clean paper towel or microfiber cloth. Do not machine wash. It’s 100% waterproof so drool, mud, and rain wipe right off. For best grip performance, keep both the foam and your window glass clean.

XL EXTRALIGHT® foam is designed to flex, bend, and return to shape. It naturally softens in high heat and firms up in cold temperatures — this is completely normal and part of what makes the material so unique. If the central channel widens over time, place a flat weight on one side and leave it for an extended period to press it back together.
